Recognized as one of the world’s foremost harp virtuosos, Judy Loman attended the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with the celebrated harpist Carlos Salzedo. She was principal harp with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from 1960 to 2002. As a soloist, Ms. Loman has performed across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan. She has performed as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra during several tours, and has appeared as a guest artist with other orchestras and ensembles worldwide. She has participated in numerous music festivals across North America.

A prolific recording artist, Ms. Loman’s CDs include Judy Loman FavoritesIlluminationsThe Baroque Harp, and Musique de chambre française for Marquis Classics; and Dance of the Blessed Spirits and Harp Showpieces for Naxos. She has also recorded for the RCA, Columbia, CBC, Centrediscs, and Aquitaine labels. She has received the Juno Award for best classical recording and the Canada Council for the Arts’s Grand prix du disque canadien, and several of her performances have been filmed by Rhombus Media for public television.

In addition to leading master classes around the world, Ms. Loman is a visiting artist at the Curtis Institute of Music, adjunct professor of harp at the University of Toronto, and a fellow of Toronto’s Royal Conservatory.
