Anthony B. Creamer

Anthony (Tony) Creamer has served as a trustee since 2013 and presently chairs the conservatory’s Audit Committee following long service as chair of the Education and Student Life Committee. Mr. Creamer is an amateur musicologist and deep listener, especially of the music of our time. He is particularly excited about music still to be written and this is the inspiration for his support of Curtis’s student composers and musicians. He has been credited as executive producer of many recordings. Outside of Curtis, Tony serves as treasurer for the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, The Pennsylvania Innocence Project and Big Ears Festival. Tony can be found at many Curtis recitals and considers this quote by Marcel Duchamp a touchstone: “The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act.”
