Jacob Niemann (Conducting '23) Receives Award from The Solti Foundation U.S.
Jacob Niemann (Conducting ’23), a recent Rita E. Hauser Conducting Fellow at Curtis, has been announced as one of twenty-two young conductors, ages 24 to 37, who are receiving Career Assistance Awards from The Solti Foundation U.S. Mr. Niemann, who has served as cover conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Festival Orchestra, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, entered the school in 2020 and was mentored by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Winner of the 2021 Robert J. Harth Conducting Prize at the Aspen Conducting Academy, he has conducted for David Zinman at the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and for Michael Tilson Thomas at the New World Symphony through international conducting masterclasses.
