Himari Named One of Classic FM’s 30 Rising Stars Under 30

The prize-winning young Curtis violinist is recognized as a rising artist shaping the future landscape of classical music

Thirteen-year-old Curtis violin student Himari Yoshimura has been named one of Classic FM‘s “30 Under 30”—a prestigious list highlighting rising stars who are shaping the future of classical music. Each year, the renowned U.K. independent national radio station selects exceptional young artists making a significant impact on the field. Ms. Yoshimura, a native of Tokyo, Japan, entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2022 and is a Curtis Institute of Music Fellow. Later in 2025, she will make her European debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker under the direction of Maestro Zubin Mehta after making her U.S. concert debut in 2024 with the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra alongside her teacher, celebrated violinist Ida Kavafian. In 2024, she signed with the London-based international classical music artist management agency KD SCHMID, and in 2023, Ms. Yoshimura was featured on the Japanese television network All-Nippon News and won the audience prize at the “Mini Violini” opening concert of the Concours Musical International de Montréal (CMIM).
