To kick off Curtis’ 2024–25 season this fall, the school presented two events on Founder’s Weekend (October 11–13), honoring the legacy of Curtis founder Mary Louise Curtis Bok and From Hofmann to Present: The Legacy of Piano, as faculty, alumni, and student pianists saluted the Polish-American virtuoso and Curtis legend. Curtis New Music Ensemble’s series opened with a Portrait of Gabriela Ortiz, Curtis Symphony Orchestra’s opening concert featured Time for Three and conductor Osmo Vänskä, and Curtis Opera Theatre presented the East Coast premiere of The Comet / Poppea at Philadelphia’s 23rd Street Armory.
