Rehearsing Philadelphia: March 25–April 10

Rehearsing Philadelphia

Rehearsing Philadelphia is an exciting city-wide music project created by Ari Benjamin Meyers and jointly produced and presented by the Curtis Institute of Music and Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design that explores how we—as a society, a city, and individuals—can be together.

Rehearsing Philadelphia emphasizes the nature of modern life—a constant state of practice and rehearsal. The future will be rehearsed, not perfected.

Made up of four modules—Solo, Duet, Ensemble and the world’s first-ever Public Orchestra—the project features 67 performances by artists from Philadelphia and around the world, including Ann Carlson, Anthony Tidd, CA Conrad, the Dover Quartet (String Quartet ’14 and current faculty), Ei Arakawa, Fred Schmidt-Arenales, Germaine Ingram, Philadelphia Heritage Chorale, Singing City, Sun Ra Arkestra, Tyshawn Sorey, Ursula Rucker, Xenia Rubinos, Yolanda Wisher, Zoë Keating, Curtis Institute of Music students, Drexel University Westphal College of Media Arts and Design students and more.

Public performances take place throughout the city from Friday, March 25 through Sunday, April 10. Visit rehearsingphiladelphia.com to learn more about the project, participating artists and event dates, locations and times, and to reserve free tickets.
