Elena Perroni made her professional opera debut with Opera Philadelphia, singing the role of Doris Parker in Charlie Parker’s Yardbird, at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City. She reprised the role in her English National Opera debut, in the summer of 2017.

In the 2021-22 season Elena made her Main Stage Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G major, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem with Maestro Asher Fisch and West Australian Symphony Orchestra and her role debut as Iolanta in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta with West Australian Opera.

In past seasons she has appeared in concert scenes with the Philadelphia Orchestra as Rusalka (Rusalka) 2017, Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) 2018, Berlioz’s Les Nuits D’été in 2019 and was due to join them as Iolanta (Iolanta) in 2020 (canceled due to covid). Elena made her home debut as Mimi in La Boheme and returned for her role debut as Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata for West Australian Opera.

Other engagements include Mimi in La Boheme with West Australian Opera, Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, Juliet in Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Maria in Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, with the Reno Philharmonic and guest appearances with Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, and Philadelphia Independence Sinfonia.

Tenor Joseph Tancredi from Bayville, New York, entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2019 and studies in the Opera Program with Jack LiVigni, adjunct faculty. All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships, and Mr. Tancredi is the Alfred Greenberg Memorial Fellow.

Mr. Tancredi’s recent credits include Roderick Usher (The Fall of the House of Usher) and the cover of Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer) with Opera Maine, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Conte Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) with Curtis Opera Theatre, Albert (Albert Herring) with both Curtis Opera Theatre and Manhattan School of Music, and Raimondo (I due timidi) with Manhattan School of Music. Joseph has participated in the Apprentice Singer Program at the Santa Fe Opera for two summers, where he sang the Peasant (Eugene Onegin) and covered Benjamin (The Thirteenth Child) and Jon Harker (The Lord of Cries). He has also participated in the Chautauqua Voice Institute where he sang Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and Detlef (The Student Prince). Mr. Tancredi has garnered a lot of recognition in the competition circuit—he won the Rohatyn Great Promise 2nd Place Award in the Eastern Region Final of the MONC, an Encouragement Award in Memory of Alfred Hubay from the George London Foundation, and the Dr. David DiChiera Encouragement Award from the Premiere Opera Foundation. This season, Joseph looks forward to performing Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and Lurcanio (Ariodante) with Curtis Opera Theatre.

Mr. Tancredi holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s Degree from the Curtis Institute of Music.

Andrea Obiso is the concertmaster of the Orchestra dell’ Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. His appointment was announced a few months after his graduation from the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied violin with Midori and the late Aaron Rosand.

Mr. Obiso’s competition prizes include the ARD International Violin Competition in Munich, where he also received the prize for the best performance of a contemporary work, written by Avner Dorman for the competition. He also won the Prix Ravel in 2017. Participating in international competitions has given Mr. Obiso the opportunity to appear as soloist with several important orchestras and to play chamber music and teach seminars around the world. He has appeared with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and the Bayerische Rundfunk Symphonie Orchester, among others. He has also performed in live recorded concerts in Moscow, Tokyo, Shanghai, and many German cities.

Mr. Obiso began studying the violin with his father at age six. He studied with Boris Belkin at the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana and at the Maastricht Conservatorium. At Curtis, in addition to his violin studies, he took courses in conducting, improvisation and the aesthetics of music.

Andrea Obiso plays on a “Joseph Guarneri del Gesù 1741” violin, graciously loaned by NPO Yellow Angel, and uses a bow made by E. Pajeot, on loan from Nippon Violin Co. Ltd.

Violist Haesue Lee is the first Korean first-prize and audience prize winner of the 2018 Primrose International Viola Competition. Haesue’s accomplishments as a solo violist, includes, 2015 Johansen International Competition, the 2014 Albert M. Greenfield Competition, 2013 Great Mountains Music Festival Concerto Competition,the New York International Music Competition, and the 2010 Alex & Buono International String Competition to play at the Weill Hall of Carnegie Hall.

Ms. Lee has performed as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Prince George’s Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Ensemble 212. Haesue has also given solo recitals in the Brigham Young University, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, Kumho Prodigy Solo Concert and the Sun Rising Matine Classic Solo Recital at the Korean Culture Center in Paris, France.

As an avid chamber musician, Ms. Lee was invited to the Korean Presidential “Blue House”, Marlboro Music Festival, and the Ravinia Festival. She has shared the stage with many distinguished artists including Nobuko Imai, Peter Wiley, Gary Hoffman, Lynn Harrell, Miriam Fried, and Paul Biss. Haesue graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with Hsin-Yun Huang and Roberto Diaz. Haesue is pursuing her master’s degree at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik with Tabea Zimmermann.

Greek cellist Timotheos Petrin is quickly garnering an international reputation for his distinctive voice. He gained international recognition as a top-prize winner at the prestigious International Paulo Cello Competition in Finland, where he was praised for “a great and passionate soloist style: expressive, vibrant singing lines, sparkling rhythm” and “an interesting, original personality” (Helsingin Sanomat).

In 2016 Mr. Petrin made his U.S. solo debut with the Kansas City Symphony under the direction of Robert Spano. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic and Susanna Mälkki; the Tapiola Sinfonietta; the Israel Camerata; NEC Philharmonia; and the Athens, Thessaloniki State, and Lahti symphony orchestras. In 2017 he was named Young Artist in Residence of Performance Today, the most listened-to classical music program in the U.S.

An avid chamber musician, Mr. Petrin has collaborated with such artists as Noah-Bendix Balgley, Jonathan Biss, Roberto Díaz, Miriam Fried, Alexey Goribol, Yura Lee, Meng-Chieh Liu, Plamena Mangova, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, and Miri Yampolsky. He has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival, Chamberfest Cleveland, Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, Caramoor’s Evnin Rising Stars, the Moritzburg Festival Academy, and the Dimitria Festival.

In addition to his concert appearances, Mr. Petrin is an advocate for charity and philanthropic causes. In Spring 2016, in collaboration with the non-profit organization ‘Podari.Life’ and the renowned Russian actress Chulpan Khamatova, he appeared in performances aiming to raise funds for children diagnosed with oncological and hematological diseases.

Born into a family of musicians in Thessaloniki, Greece, Mr. Petrin studied with Dimitris Patras at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory, with Carter Brey and Peter Wiley at the Curtis Institute of Music, and with Laurence Lesser at the New England Conservatory.

Indian-American pianist Pallavi Mahidhara made her orchestral debut at the age of 10, performing at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. She is the Second Prize winner and Young Audience Award winner of the 69th Geneva International Piano Competition, and of the VI International Prokofiev Competition in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

She has appeared in solo and orchestral concerts across five continents, and has performed at important festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Marlboro Music and Verbier Festival. She regularly performs chamber music with renowned artists such as Gary Hoffman, Diemut Poppen, István Várdai, Pablo Ferrández, Josef Spacek, and Theo Fouchennert. Pallavi was selected by Sir András Schiff for his concert series, Building Bridges, a platform to support and promote young pianists. The Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Essen released a live performance recording of her recital from October 2021, available on Spotify.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, and her Master’s Degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. She studied for several years with Dimitri Bashkirov at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía.

Aside from her private studio, Pallavi is the Artistic Advisor and a Piano Professor for the Young Artists Program at the Reina Sofia School in Madrid, Spain, and is regularly invited to teach for Curtis’s Mentor Alumni Program. She is the Executive Producer, Writer, and Host of the “The Conscious Artist”, a new podcast designed to promote Mental Health Awareness for musicians, artists, and all human beings.

Born in Bratislava, Slovakia and raised in France and Canada, pianist and conductor Miloš Repický is on the music staff of the Metropolitan Opera. At the Met he has played harpsichord continuo for Le nozze di Figaro and has led the musical preparation of Jenufa, Anna Bolena, The Death of Klinghoffer, and Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, among many other operas. He has collaborated with the Cleveland Orchestra on productions of Pelléas et Mélisande and The Cunning Little Vixen, with the Lincoln Center Festival on Daphne, and with the Joffrey Ballet on Bluebeard’s Castle and The Miraculous Mandarin. He has also worked with the Canadian Opera Company, Houston Grand Opera, Orquesta Nacional de Galicia, Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman, San Francisco Opera, the Spoleto Festival, and the Kennedy Center’s World Stages Festival; and is co-artistic director of Music for Montauk.

As a pianist, Mr. Repický has performed at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, the Chicago Cultural Center, Montreal’s Jeunesses-Musicales de Canada, and the Banff Centre for the Arts. His performances have been heard on NPR, American Public Media’s Performance Today, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, New York’s WQXR Radio, and CUNY TV. He is the pianist on the Sundialtech Pictures multimedia DVD of Pierrot Lunaire, and conducted the score for the feature film The Bohemians, an adaptation of Puccini’s La bohème.

Mr. Repický studied at the Manhattan School of Music with Warren Jones, and at the Music Academy of the West, the Merola Program at San Francisco Opera, and the Banff Centre. He joined the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2016.
