Status: Temporary (through May 2025); Non-Exempt; Part-Time (three days per week, with the ability to be fully remote)

The Curtis Institute of Music is globally renowned for excellence in classical music education. Our mission is to educate and train exceptionally gifted young musicians to engage a local and global community through the highest level of artistry. In service of this goal, admission to Curtis is based solely on artistic promise, and full-tuition scholarships are provided for all admitted students.

Part of Curtis’s Institutional Advancement team, the Prospect Researcher will enhance Curtis’s current capital campaign and other fundraising efforts by identifying, qualifying, and informing the cultivation strategy of potential new individual, foundation, government, and corporate donors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Use Curtis’s donor database and existing research tools to identify and recommend potential high-impact gift prospects for further qualification
  • Proactively research attendees of Curtis’s public events to uncover potential donors who have already demonstrated affinity for the organization
  • Assemble research profiles on individuals and organizations that are uncovered in campaign prospecting meetings with members of the
  • Create event and meeting briefings for Curtis fundraisers and executives
  • Maintain the integrity of Curtis’s database by ensuring all information is promptly and accurately recorded
  •

  • Track record of success in research-related position or function
  • Exemplary communication skills, including the ability to synthesize research details and wealth indicators into clear and concise prose
  • Capacity to balance competing priorities in a complex environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, quality, and accuracy
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or similar database is a plus
